I used this light for the 24 hours of sebring with very good results. The light is VERY VERY bright. It will run for about 3 hours on one charge and uses a very small Lion battery.

The charger can recharge the battery to full charge in around 2.5 hours.

This light was designed for 24 hour mountain biking.

For Brevets this light can be useful if you have at least one or two spare batteries. Because the batteries are small (about 4inchx4inchx0.5inch) it would be easy to carry two of them and have 6 hours of battery power. At the speeds I ride this is plenty for a 300k and 400k brevets.

For the 600k a third battery is probably called for and may only work if the 600k is a figure-8 which stops by the hotel around the 400k+ point.

In all cases a backup LED type of light is going to be a requirement...
