I've been using the 5-watt Dinotte Ultra for the last couple of years. Very happy with it. In a side-by-side comparison with a SON Hub running two Schmidt lights the Dinotte was noticeably brighter. I was quite comfortable on the brevet week 600k going down the hills in rural Pasco county in the middle of the night at 35 mph.

I would guess it to throw out about the same amount of light as say 4 of the new Cateye lights (EL 530?). It's about the same price as 4 of those as well. For an all-night ride I generally run four parallel sets of four Eveready Lithium AA disposable batteries in it, which will last for about 12 hours on the high setting. Those batteries are expensive, but I only do that two or three times times a year so big deal.

Through some rather unusual circumstances I've managed to acquire a Dinotte tail light, the new 500L triple 5-watt, and a bunch of Li-Ion batteries. I just received the tail light, the 500L is supposed to arrive within the next week or so. I think these are really sort of overkill for brevet riding. The tail light is BRIGHT. I mean really, really bright - so bright it would damage your eyesight to look directly at it. If you were riding in a group you could not have it on the high setting.

The bar is brilliant and a decent bargain between a splendid spot straightforwardly before you and some side-overflow for fringe vision. I am agreeable at 25 mph with this bar pattern...any quicker and I don't figure I could respond cheap essay help so as to a deer or other critter in the street. Stock batteries worked precisely insofar as promoted, however I have purchased another set every year.
